Who provides Lumos
Lumos is operated by Brandon Hans Ebrecht in Ontario, Canada. Contact support@lumosbudget.com about these terms or your account. Lumos helps you organize personal financial information, budgets and reports. It is not a bank and does not provide personalized investment, tax or legal advice.
Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old to create or use a Lumos account and able to enter into an agreement where you live. Provide accurate account information and use only accounts and documents you are authorized to access. Keep your sign-in and recovery information secure and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Authenticator two-step verification is required before linking a bank. Access is currently invitation-only while Lumos is in preview.
Bank connections and financial information
Bank linking is optional. When you choose it, review the information and permissions presented by Lumos and the connection provider. Connect only financial accounts you are authorized to use. Connected information can be refreshed while your connection remains active. You can disconnect a bank through Lumos; disconnecting does not itself delete information already imported. Provider and institution availability, delays or errors can affect connected information. Check important figures against your financial institution’s records.
AI-assisted features
Lumos Spark uses Google Gemini to process uploaded statements, merchant descriptions, categories or financial insight text. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete; review it before relying on it. The Lumos Spark switch stops new AI requests across merchants, summaries and statement extraction. Each statement PDF requires separate permission before sending. Agreement to these terms is not blanket consent to every financial-data use and does not replace the separate privacy notice and feature-specific disclosures or permissions.
Acceptable use
Do not use Lumos for unlawful activity, access another person’s information without permission, upload malicious content, evade security controls or disrupt the service. You retain your rights in information you provide. These terms do not grant Lumos permission to sell your bank data or use it for unrelated purposes.
Preview availability and charges
Preview features may change or be interrupted for maintenance, faults or security reasons. These terms do not authorize a payment or subscription. Any future paid offer must show its price, billing and cancellation conditions and require your separate agreement before a charge.
Closing an account and protecting the service
You can request account deletion using the account controls or by contacting support. Deletion must address connected-provider access and remaining records under the privacy and retention arrangements; do not assume every backup disappears immediately. We may restrict access reasonably needed to address unlawful use, security threats or a material breach of these terms, and provide notice and a way to contact us where practicable. Your rights under applicable law remain unaffected.
Changes, questions and your rights
We will identify the effective version of these terms and explain material changes before they apply, seeking further agreement where required. Contact support@lumosbudget.com with questions or concerns. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that applicable consumer or privacy law does not allow you to waive.
